Hard Work, Cold Ice Cream, and Hot Raffles — Welcome to the Reno VFD Social 2025!

Welcome to the 2025 Reno VFD Ice Cream Social

Every town has its traditions — and in Reno, this one’s a classic. The Reno Volunteer Fire Department Ice Cream Social is more than just a fundraiser. It’s a celebration of community, service, and good old-fashioned fun.

It's the kind of evening where the food is hot, the ice cream is cold, and the people are even warmer. If you’ve ever wanted to support your local firefighters while enjoying a hay ride and a bowl of something sweet, this is your night.

Event Details

Time: Starting at 4:00 PM
Location: Old Reno School

What to Expect

Famous Country Store
Like a general store out of a time machine. Local goods, handmade items, baked treats, and more — stocked by the community, for the community.

Games & Raffles
Whether you're spinning a wheel or taking a shot at the big prize, there’s no shortage of ways to test your luck and win something worth carrying home.

Firearms Raffle
We’re running our popular firearms raffle again this year. Tickets are $10 each, and every dollar goes directly to supporting the Reno VFD.

Hay Rides
Climb aboard and enjoy a slow roll through Reno’s backroads — a favorite for kids, and not too bad for grown-ups either.

Food, Ice Cream, and Music
We’ll have a full spread of comforting, classic food — and of course, ice cream served up cold and familiar, just the way you like it. Live music will keep the evening moving and the crowd smiling.

Bingo
A firehouse tradition that never gets old. Whether you're 9 or 90, you’ve got a shot at shouting "BINGO" and walking away with a prize.

Why It Matters

This isn't just a summer evening out. It’s how we keep the fire trucks fueled, the gear maintained, and our volunteers ready to roll.

Your support makes a difference — whether you’re buying a raffle ticket, playing a game, or just grabbing a bite to eat. Every dollar raised helps the Reno VFD serve this community with the speed, skill, and safety you count on.

See You There

Mark your calendars, bring your chairs, and come early. We’ll handle the rest.

Come for the food. Stay for the fun. Leave knowing you helped the people who always show up when it counts.

Want to see what the Reno Ice Cream Social is all about? Take a look at the photos from last year’s event — the laughter, the line dancing, the kids with sticky hands and full smiles, and neighbors coming together for a good cause. It’s the kind of small-town magic you don’t find just anywhere.

Want to Do More Than Eat Ice Cream?

Let’s be honest — scooping ice cream is the easy part. The real work happens when the call goes out at 2 a.m. in the pouring rain, and someone rolls out of bed, pulls on their gear, and heads toward the problem while everyone else is running the other way.

That someone could be you.

The Reno Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for people willing to learn, to serve, and to step up when it counts. It’s not for everyone — and that’s okay. Because not everyone can run hose, climb ladders, or work a wreck on the highway.

But everyone can help.

If joining the department isn't your thing, there are plenty of ways to support those who do. From helping at events to spreading the word, or simply making a donation — every effort counts.

We’ve got new volunteers stepping up, ready to answer the call. Now we need to make sure they’ve got the best life-saving and protective gear possible. Your support makes that happen.

If you're ready to serve, or just ready to help those who do — reach out.

Because in a town like Reno, when one of us stands up, we all stand a little taller.
